Greenhorns
Getting your first tattoo is a huge deal, especially if you are planning to get more tattoos, because you need to plan out all what you want to do on your arm, back, shoulder, etc. When choosing to get your first tattoo make sure that it is something that you really want. It's completely okay not to have any tattoos, they are not for everyone. Obviously that is not the case for me, but when I got my first tattoo, which is now covered up by another I wasn't thinking at all. I had just turned 17 and got my mother to sign off to allow me to get one. I got a kanji symbol that means dragon, and I'm not going to lie, I got it because I thought it was cool and I was the first one of my friends to get one. If I could go back in time I would take back that one, but all of my other tattoos I am very proud of. Deciding to get a tattoo is a huge deal because they are not cheap, and they will be permanently on your body for the rest of your life. Getting your first tattoo should not be a decision that you make over night, seriously think about what you want to get, and if you really even want to get one. If you choose to get one welcome to the club, and if not good on you for really thinking about it.

Do you draw out all your tattoos before you get them done or print off a picture so the tattoo artist gets an idea of what you want? I feel like I would be nervous that if I got a tattoo it wouldnt actually look like the image in my head. I have a lot of friends that have tattoos and they said it's not really what they wanted.
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely not good that some of your friends were not happy with some of their tattoos. All of my tattoos except for a couple of words and numbers were drawn out. I didn't draw then, but I got one of my friends to draw for me and I told him what I wanted. I have also had a couple of tattoo artist draw something up for me whenever I had an idea and if what they drew fit the image that I had in my head I would most likely get it done, but if not I would tell them what I liked about it and what I thought needed to be changed. In my opinion it is a much better idea to get a tattoo that you drew or had someone else draw for you. Its always nice to have your own personal unique tattoo. I personally hate flash tattoo or tattoos off of the wall that tattoo parlors have on display.
